José Sánchez Garrido was born in Málaga, Spain in 1959. However, he lived in Barcelona from an early age, a city where he also began scuba diving back in 1987. His interest in underwater creatures grew, which prompted him to start in the world of underwater photography in 1992.

Thanks to his knowledge in industrial machining, he made his own housing for his camera (Canon 500D), with which he participated in numerous photography events. He got the 1st place in international photography in the magazine "Unterwasser" in 2001. He also participated in several championships in Catalonia, managing to become champion with the company and collaboration of his wife Patricia Cárdenas. He also had the great fortune to participate in the national championship, managing to finish runner-up along with his friend and photographer Marc Casanovas.

In 2006 he decided to make his profession his passion, creating the company SAGA DIVE S.L. From then on, he is fully involved in the manufacture and design of accessories for underwater photography.

Later, in 2009, the company began to make a name for itself on the international scene thanks to its participation in international diving events and obtained the distribution of the prestigious Nauticam brand for Spain and Portugal.

Since then he has continued his work at SAGA, while combining it with his great passions: Underwater photography and travel.
