Sergio Riccardo was born in Naples on 05 October 1963.
Growing up in a close contact with the sea, at just under 13 he built a small arch with the metal cores of an umbrella and began fishing for small fish in the waters of the island of Procida.
At 16, he attended an underwater diving course and, after just two and a half years, he became a PADI Underwater Instructor. He immediately began his professional activity, initially collaborating with the Sorrento Diving Center and, immediately afterwards, in 1984, he moved for a long period to the Maldives.
At the same time, one of the first Diving Centers in Italy opens in Sorrento, alternating its working seasons between the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean.
In 1991, attentive to the needs of the market, he founded the Diving Tour, a small Tour Operator specialized in underwater destinations all over the world. Thus began, in various seas of the world and in the areas of major tourist interest, his search for new diving destinations. In the following years it dives from the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean, passing through the Arctic, carefully observing places and animal species both above and below the surface of the sea.
In June 2016 his first photographic book was published: “OCEAN LIFE”, a real “world tour” above and below the seas that lasted 35 years. In February 2019 he participates as an Underwater Photographer in an Expedition to Antarctica for the realization of a documentary on the Leopard Seal. In the spring of 2020 he was chosen by the COAST GUARD as Official Photographer for the realization of the 2021 CALENDAR in homage to the 25th anniversary of the birth of the Coast Guard Diving Units. In July 2020 his second photographic book is released: “SHARKS SECRTES”, exclusively made with images of different species of sharks photographed in the various seas of the world. At the same time he works on another editorial project: "OCEAN LIFE II" a second tour of the world underwater whose release is scheduled for 2023. His Photographic Archive has over 100,000 images, most of which underwater, made in over 7,500 dives carried out at various latitudes and different habitats: rivers, lakes, temperate, tropical and cold waters.
The result of this experience is: "PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITIONS" the Tour Operator specializing in photographic and naturalistic trips around the world, from the Mediterranean to Papua New Guinea, from the Arctic to Antarctica, with a careful choice of places and boats.
Today Sergio directs PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITIONS with the enthusiasm and passion of the first day, always looking for new destinations and destinations to explore and propose, without ever neglecting the sea of his home, the first great love of his life.

Sergio Riccardo nasce a Napoli il 05 Ottobre 1963.
Cresciuto a stretto contatto con il mare, a poco meno di 13 anni costruisce un piccolo arco con le anime di metallo di un ombrello ed inizia a pescare piccoli pesci nelle acque dell’isola di Procida.
A 16 anni frequenta un corso d’immersioni subacqueo e, dopo appena due anni e mezzo, diventa Istruttore Subacqueo PADI. Inizia subito la sua attività professionale, collaborando all’inizio con il Centro Immersioni Sorrento e, subito dopo, nel 1984, si trasferisce per un lungo periodo alle Maldive.
Contemporaneamente apre, a Sorrento, uno dei primi Diving Center in Italia, alternando le sue stagioni lavorative tra il Mediterraneo e l’Oceano Indiano.
Nel 1991, attento alle esigenze del mercato, fonda la Diving Tour, un piccolo Tour Operator specializzato in destinazioni subacquee in tutto il mondo. Inizia così, in diversi mari del mondo e nelle aree di maggiore interesse turistico, la sua ricerca di nuove destinazioni subacquee. Negli anni successivi s’immerge dai Caraibi all’Oceano Pacifico, passando per l’ Artico, osservando attentamente luoghi e specie animali sia sopra che sotto la superfice del mare.
Nel Giugno 2016 viene pubblicato il suo primo Libro Fotografico: “OCEAN LIFE” , un vero e proprio “giro del mondo” sopra e sotto i mari durato 35 anni. A Febbraio 2019 partecipa come Fotografo Subacqueo ad una Spedizione in Antartide per la realizzazione di un documentario sulla Foca Leopardo. Nella primavera del 2020 viene scelto dal Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto della Guardia Costiera come Fotografo Ufficiale per la realizzazione del CALENDARIO 2021 in omaggio ai 25 anni della nascita dei Nuclei Sommozzatori della Guardia Costiera. A Luglio 2020 esce il suo secondo Libro Fotografico: “SHARKS SECRTES” , unicamente realizzato con immagini di diverse specie di Squali fotografati nei vari mari del mondo. Contemporaneamente lavora ad un altro progetto editoriale: “OCEAN LIFE II” un secondo giro del mondo sott’acqua la cui uscita è prevista per il 2023. Il suo Archivio Fotografico conta oltre 100.000 immagini, la maggior parte delle quali subacquee, realizzate in oltre 7.500 immersioni effettuate alle varie latitudini ed habitat diversi: fiumi, laghi, acquee temperate, tropicali e fredde.
Il risultato di questa esperienza è : “PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITIONS” il Tour Operator specializzato in viaggi Fotografici e naturalistici in tutto il mondo, dal Mediterraneo alla Papua Nuova Guinea, dall’Artico all’ Antartide, con una scelta accurata dei luoghi e delle imbarcazioni.
Oggi Sergio dirige PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITIONS con l’entusiasmo e la passione del primo giorno, sempre alla ricerca di nuove destinazioni e mete da esplorare e proporre, senza mai trascurare il mare di casa sua, primo grande amore della sua vita.
