UWP: MAURIZIO LANINI






























MAURIZIO LANINI
Sono nato a Roma nel 1955 e sin da piccolo ho sviluppato un grande interesse per la storia naturale e per gli animali. Questa passione ,nel 1981, mi ha portato alla laurea in Scienze Biologiche con indirizzo in Biologia Marina ,che è sempre stata il mio principale interesse. Inizialmente ho cominciato a fotografare gli animali per fissare le mie osservazioni e conservarle nel tempo, poi la fotografia naturalistica è diventata il mio principale interesse. 

Come subacqueo ho iniziato con l'apnea e poi nel 1981 ho partecipato al secondo corso di formazione per Istruttori  PADI fatto in Italia conseguendo il brevetto da Open Water Instructor.
Nel 1982 ho iniziato a collaborare con l'agenzia fotografica Panda Photo di Roma ( ora ha cessato l'attività ) e dal 1997 è iniziata una nuova collaborazione con l'agenzia Corbis . 
Molte delle mie immagini sono state pubblicate da riviste ( Airone , Oasis ...),settimanali,quotidiani libri vari , esposizioni e mostre , screensavers per PC. 
Nel 1995 una mia foto è stata "highly commended" nella categoria Urban Wildlife nel concorso internazionale per designare il  Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Sono sposato dal 1982 con Anna che vive la mia stessa passione per il mare e per le immersioni , condivisa anche dai nostri figli Daniele e Martina . 
Ho iniziato a fotografare con un corredo Pentax e poi sono passato a Canon, che uso ancora oggi ;

nella fotografia subacquea ho iniziato con una Nikonos III,poi una Nikon F100 e dall’avvento del digitale Canon .Ora uso una custodia Nauticam per la Canon 5 D MKIV con zoom 8-15 mm, zoom 16-35 f.4,0, 100 mm macro.

I was born in Rome ( Italy ) in 1955 and I developed my interest in natural history and animals when I was very young . 
Following this passion in 1981 I achieve my degree in Marine Biology, that became my first interest of the natural world. I began photographing wildlife initially from the desire to share my experiences and observations of the natural world and since 1979 I joint my love for natural world and for animals with my interest for photography.

As a diver I started with freediving and then in 1981 I participated in the second training course for PADI Instructors made in Italy, obtaining the Open Water Instructor patent.
In 1982 started a collaboration with Panda Photo’s Agency in Rome and since 1997 I started a new collaboration with the International Photographic Agency “ Corbis “ . 
Many of my photos has been published in magazines as Airone and Oasis , books , exhibitions , displays , company reports and screensavers for PC . 
In 1995 I was highly commended in the Urban Wildlife category of the BG Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition.

I’m married with Anna and with our sons , Daniele and Martina , living my same passion for the sea and diving. 
I started photographing with a Pentax kit and then I switched to Canon, which I still use today;

in underwater photography I started with a Nikonos III, then a Nikon F100 and the advent of digital I use  Canon. Now I use a Nauticam housing for the Canon 5 D MKIV with 8-15 mm zoom, 16-35 f.4.0 zoom, 100 mm macro.

UWP: CHRISTINA BARRINGER




















Christina Barringer was born and raised in South Florida. 

She has an educational background in marine biology and speech-language pathology. 

She has let her underwater passion take her around the world. During her college years, she studied abroad in Mexico, Australia, and Belize, and interned in South Africa where she researched Great White sharks. 

Christina has been diving since 2007, and is a PADI Divemaster. She started off snorkeling as a child, using underwater disposable cameras. 

She got her first digital camera in 2007 and from there, her passion for underwater photography grew. 

Throughout the years, her camera systems have “grown” and so has her love for the ocean. She currently shoots the Canon 6D in a Nauticam housing. 

Christina’s photos have been sold at Coast Boutique in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and featured in art galleries. 

She was recently awarded "Best of Photography 2018" by the Mayor at the Pembroke Pines art competition. 

Additionally, Christina placed 2nd in the portrait category of the prestigious Ocean Art 2018 competition.  

She has also published articles and has been interviewed on SCUBA Radio. 

Currently, Christina is also pursuing a career as a speech therapist. 

While traveling and diving she puts her heart and soul into capturing the beauty of the underwater world with the goal of creating awareness and promoting conservation.

UWP WAYNE LAI





 
























 

 


WAYNE LAI

Wayne  is currently a professional investor in the Hong Kong stock and bond market, as well as being a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong. 

Born and bred in the southeastern coast of China, Wayne is an ocean lover. He learned water-color painting when he was a student in high school and university. 

Wayne learned scuba diving in 2015 and then started his underwater photography on his macro trip to Anilao in 2016. 

He was deeply impressed by the beauty and behavior of the critters there under the focus light. 

He has always been enthusiastic about underwater macro photography since then and frequently visited Lembeh, Romblon and Anilao. 

After one and a half year, he started to shoot wide angle and got some nice shots during his trips to Port St Johns, the Red Sea, Raja Ampat, Jardines de la Reina, Tromso, Trinco and Fakarava.


Wayne’s photos have been recognized since the second half of 2017. 

He is one of the winners of the Ocean Geographic Pictures of the Year 2018 & 2019 and the finalist of WPY, UPY, World Shootout  and UWPC in the past few years.
