UWP: DEBBIE WALLACE

DEBBIE WALLACE

I’ve been fascinated since childhood with our underwater world thanks to the TV show “Sea Hunt.”  When I first started diving, I reallydidn’t like it very much during my checkout dives in Wisconsin in March 1980.  But I had a scuba instructor who kept after me to continue diving, and I’m so very grateful that he did…
Decades later, another scuba friend from Bonaire introduced me to the world of underwater photography, and I was HOOKED!!  I had never taken any topside photos, so I had a huge learning curve in deciphering f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, strobe positioning, etc.  However, our underwater world was so teeming with life and beauty that I was determined to learn how to digitally capture its’ beauty and essence.  My current rig is an Olympus OMD EM-1 MKII, Nauticam housing and dual Inon Z240 strobes.
I love both macro and wide angle photography, but my passion is SHARKS!!  Sharks are one of the underwater apex predators and deserve our respect and admiration.  They also deserve our help in presenting them in a much softer light in our underwater images and videos which will , hopefully, help to dispel the evil media-driven myths about sharks.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the beauty beneath the sea in my images.  Please check out the rest of my work at www.debbiewallacephotography.com.  Best fishes!!
