GERARDO DE VILLAR
I’ve always liked powerful animals, but the first time I saw a shark in front of me I was totally amazed and engaged with the feeling. It was such an unforgettable encounter that a special need to transmit that experience to everyone became the subject of my interest.
Through my work I want to create awareness, respect and interest in preserving sharks. I want people to learn they are majestic, powerful animals at the top of the marine food chain but not the serial killers everyone thinks.
Subacuatic photography needs special knowledge and I’m always learning in order to develop the different skills and techniques needed during the underwater shooting sessions.
