Mauro Apuleo
Born in Rome , 1963.
I discovered the sea at about 6 years of age together with my father, equipped with mask and fins.
Animals and nature have always fascinated me.
In 1984 I received my diving license, enabling me to see the marine life that I couldn’t reach in free diving. After a few years, in 1988 I bought a Nikonos V and my dives lead me to photographing marine life. I organize my holidays around photography, a means to capture a moment lived in contact with nature. In 2007 I bought my first digital camera and today I have a Nikon D800E. I have been participating in Underwater Photography Competitions since 2010 and in Italian Underwater Photography Championships organized by FIPSAS. In this environment I have acquired better knowledge and techniques to improve my photos.
Travelling, photography and diving are my passions and today these passions are being passed on to my children.

Mauro Apuleo
Nato a Roma nel 1963.
Inizio a scoprire il mare a circa 6 anni insieme a mio padre con maschera e pinne.
Da sempre gli animali, la natura mi affascinano. Nel 1984 conseguo il brevetto per immersione con le bombole, così posso vedere la vita marina che in apnea non potevo raggiungere.
Dopo qualche anno, nel 1988 acquisto una Nikonos V e le mie immersioni sono finalizzate nel fotografare i fondali.
Ancora oggi le immersioni sono il fine delle mie vacanze in Italia e all’estero e la fotografia il mezzo per “fermare” i momenti vissuti a contatto con la natura.
Passato al digitale nel 2007, oggi fotografo con la Nikon D800E. Dal 2010 ho iniziato a partecipare a gare di fotografia subacquea estemporanea e ai Campionati Italiani di fotografia subacquea organizzati della FIPSAS.
In questo ambito ho acquisito ulteriori conoscenze tecniche per realizzare al meglio i miei scatti.
Viaggiare, fotografare ed immergermi sono le mie passioni ed oggi queste passioni stanno contaggiando anche i miei figli.
